Another journey
Another group of Shepherd of the Valley ambassadors will be
traveling to Tanzania in July to visit our partners at Tungamalenga, Makifu,
and Usolanga Parishes: Judy Anderson, Geri Anglin, Jenny and Peter Harrits, Dean Kremer, Kirsten Levorson, and Ken Loher.
See the tentative itinerary
This group includes our oldest traveler (82 years young), our most distant traveler (joining us from the state of Virginia), one traveling for the second time, another for her third time, and another for her (lucky) thirteenth time.

What brings this group together, what motivates us to endure
the 24 hours of flight and airport time, followed by a ten hour cross country
bus ride?
We’re excited to see
what God has been up to in our partnerships since our last visit!
· We expect to worship in the newly finished Mahuninga Chapel, which has been under construction since 2004.
· We’ll see the foundation of the Mpalapande Primary School and arrange the next stage of construction.
· We’ll visit Usolanga for the first time in several years, worshipping in a new chapel.
· We’ll meet scholarship students and graduates, and learn how they are using their gifts and education for the sake of others.

We will deliver gifts
of love from our congregation.
· We’ll purchase a six month supply of medicines and mosquito nets for the clinic at Tungamalenga.
· We’ll purchase rice, maize and other harvest offerings from our partners in Tungamalenga and Makifu, and then we’ll deliver that food to Huruma Center, an orphanage in Iringa.
· We’ll purchase and deliver bicycles to help the lay evangelists serve their congregations.

Most importantly, our
visit will strengthen the relationship between SOTV and our partners.
Meeting face to face is essential for clear communication and project planning.
As we walk together from camp to chapel sites, as we share reports during
village visits, as we sing and pray together, we build and strengthen our
partnership. Thanks to all those who travel as ambassadors on behalf of SOTV!
This could be YOU
next summer! SOTV will send another group of ambassadors in July 2017.
Specific dates are yet to be determined; trips are typically 16 days and cost
around $5000. Itinerary highlights include visits to the Iringa Diocese Head
Office, University of Iringa, Ilula Hospital, three day stays in each partner
parish, two days on safari in Ruaha National Park, and a final day in Dar es
Salaam. Interested? Contact Kirsten.Levorson@sotv.org
